THE TALK
Join alumnus Jack Rooke for an informal talk about coping with stress, the importance of looking after yourself, coping mechanisms and his own experiences with mental health. There will be time for Q&A as well as informal networking and refreshments after the talk. Jack will also read from his book Cheer The F**k Up, out in 2020, about his university years. 
 
THE SPEAKERS
Jack Rooke, BA (Hons) Journalism 2014, is a 25-year-old comedy writer, documentary-maker and mental health campaigner from Watford.

A Broadcast Magazine TV Hot Shot in 2017 and listed in the BBC New Talent Comedy Hotlist after his BBC Three doc-series Happy Man, Jack has been recently commissioned by BBC Comedy to make a sitcom pilot Big Boy. Last month, Radio 4 broadcast his first arts documentary Mamma M.I.A: Influence of An Icon, featuring the acclaimed rapper M.I.A. Currently he is working on a project for the Young Vic theatre, a debut book, Cheer The F**k Up, for Penguin Random House and a film script. He is an ambassador for the male suicide prevention charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).
